A JGT Christmas Poem
Ello, everyone! Genie here to present to you a special poem that I wrote a few years ago. The poem was originally a Christmas present to Jocey, but now that we've remastered JGT, we would like to share it with you, complete with redrawn sketches and colors and snow!

OZ Doodle: Love Overflowing
Ello, everyone! Genie here with a small treat for everyone, including myself.
So, as you noticed, the past few weeks were pretty busy for me, which resulted in a lack of page updates. I mentioned that I was working on grad school apps, and with that came a lot of unexpected stress, lack of self-confidence, and all that terrible stuff.
But, what got me through it was the support from my family and friends. They all told me that they believed in me, and that I had to believe that I had a chance of getting into a school.
Now, I know that they are right.
The encouraging words from my loved ones embraced me like a surprise hug. I didn't think of asking for it, but when I received it, I couldn't help but smile.
So, right before I finished page 12, I actually drew a small doodle to express that love. And I would like to share it with you!
Here are Lion and Genie-Dorothy showing just that!

Ello, everyone! Genie here (FINALLY) with page 12! Huzzah!
Thank you all so much for being so patient. These past couple of weeks have been very nerve-wracking for me. I've recently started submitting grad school applications...dun dun dun. Seems pretty harmless, but trust me, it was hard for me to press that 'submit' button. There are still times when I and my comic counterpart share the same fears, haha.

Lila is back in the comic! And I am so glad to draw her again. Let us see what Lila does to continue Eppie 10!

Writing Buddies
Ello, everyone! Genie here with some updates!
First off, Jocey and I survived NaNoWriMo! As I've mentioned, the both of us decided to participate in National Novel Writing Month this past November, and boy oh boy, was that an experience. We wrote, and wrote, and wrote, and wrote, and I gotta say, I think we conquered.
I ended with a little over 50,000 words of my novel, and Jocey ended with a little over 47,000. Now, the official challenge is to write at least 50,000 words in order to be deemed a 'winner', but despite that, I feel like both Jocey and I won this challenge. We've managed to dive into our novel ideas, and bring them to life. And that isn't even the coolest part.
The coolest part, to me, is the fact that we did this challenge together. I probably wouldn't have gotten this far if Jocey weren't my writing buddy. We've encouraged each other a lot, as we do throughout the rest of the year, haha.
But, on this special occasion, here is a little dedication to our first NaNoWriMo!
Ta da! Tis us, with the titles of our novels tucked in our thought bubbles. And, of course, the idea that we've shared for a while, JGT, makes a cameo appearance, too. Jocey, I am so excited for A Light in the Dark; I cannot wait to experience it! Thank you again for being an awesome writing buddy!
And, real quick before I sign off, JGT in OZ will resume this weekend :) So please look out for Page 12, coming soon!

Happy Thanksgiving 2015: Being in the Sky
Ello, everyone! Genie and JGT here to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, that is totally fine. I just want to show how much JGT and company is thankful for all of you, and how we are thankful for each other as well.
So, here is a simple picture for the simple act of being thankful.

I always love thinking about these three. Though they haven't shown up a lot in the comic yet, they show up a lot in my mind. I can't wait to tell more of their stories :)

JGT Character Doodles (Part 2)!

Gotta love the boys with the bluish eyes! I had so much fun drawing this group, and I may have had a little too much fun with Flitwick and Harry's descriptions, hehe. And for Rudy's sake, I toned the hilarity down a bit.
I will post the last three character doodles soon, and then...page 12!! Again, thank you so, so much for your patience and support! It makes me as happy as...Harry being reunited with his lab coat!

Quick Update and OCtober JGT Character Doodles (Part 1)!
Ello, everyone! Genie here!
So, as you can see, Page 12 is not ready yet. But never fear! It is currently in the works. I've mentioned before that I am participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year, so I wanted to make sure that I didn't fall too behind on my novel during this first week of November.
However, as I work on both JGT and my novel, I still want to hang out at the website every once in a while, and share with you guys some cool stuff.
And so, for today, here are some character doodles from a special challenge!
Here's the story: Jocey and I thought it would be fun to do a drawing challenge during the month of October (OC-tober, as Jocey called it XD). Every day of the month, we would draw an OC of ours, add whatever quotes or comments to the doodle, and then we would share it with one another. Not only did we get to practice our drawing skills, we ended up learning a lot of awesome things about each other's characters, which is always great :) We recommend this challenge to everyone!
And, of course, for this challenge, a JGT character popped up every now and then.
Here for you today is a handful of those characters!
Gotta love these two baddies and one goodie-that-used-to-be-baddie-kinda-ish! :D
I had a lot of fun drawing and writing comments for these three. The especially entertaining commentary came from Ace's drawing.....I'll let you guys interpret it yourselves. Maybe I...or Jocey...will discuss it more in the future ;)

A Little Birthday Surprise for Jag
Ello, everyone! Genie and Jocey here to wish a happy birthday to JGT's favorite squirrel dude, Jag!
Sorry that this is about an hour late. Jocey and I are participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year, and I ended up using more time to write than I had planned, haha.
But nonetheless, Jocey has a little birthday surprise for Jag, which can be witnessed....right here!
Thank you, Jocey, for this hilariously cute birthday gift for Jag. When she originally showed me this picture, she explained to me that Jocey was bold and wanted to give him something he would not expect.
Well, congrats, Jocey! He did not expect that XD
In fact, I loved this picture so much...I drew a little sequel to it!
Here is what happened the day after:
We thought Squirrel Jocey would be embarrassed after pulling this off. Aw, poor flustered squirrel couple! Despite the 'sunburnt cheeks', I believe that Jag had a wonderful birthday. Here's hoping :)

Quick Sketch: Double J Trouble
Ello, guys! Genie here!
I'm currently working on Page 7 for OZ, so in the meantime, I wanted to share with you a quickie sketch of a couple of characters :) Characters whose names both start with the letter "J"...
Huzzah, tis Jag and Jocey!
FUN FACT: The title "Double J Trouble" was actually a full episode of the original draft of JGT Season 1! I'm...probably not going to include it in this new revamp, so consider this a tiny tribute to the episode that will only exist in the confines of my ginormous comic binder XD If I do a real, real tribute, I'll include the synopsis. For now, just know that it's about these two...being themselves, hehe.

The Wishful Bookmark
Ello, everyone! It is my pleasure to announce the last day of the JGT Birthday Prophecy Cycle! Today is Taylor's birthday! Huzzah!!!!
As you may know, this year, the theme for the birthday cycle is Extraordinary Ideas. Jocey created itty bitty fire fluffs under a blue moon. I made butterflies appear in mid-air. And now it's Tay's turn.
Taylor, you possess the Wishful Bookmark...
This bookmark is a flower, and every petal of that flower is a wish. Usually, people would pluck off those petals in order to wish for something, like for someone to love them or not.
But this is different. All of the petals on your flower come back to you, and stay with you as you read your books, as you live through your stories. And sometimes, your wishes can even help you write your own story.
So on this birthday, and all the days that follow, continue to wish, and make those wishes come true, Taylor! We know you can do it. Because hey, you're part of JGT. That means that you are quite extraordinary :)

Another Birthday Surprise
Hey, everyone! Genie here and feeling ever so grateful for my friends X3
First off, thank you so much, Jocey for Butterfly Creation! I loved the colors and the concept and the style and the everything X3 It's inspired me to create even more :) you often do that in general for me, so thank you so much for your constant inspiration!!
I also wanted to share with you guys a pic that another one of my friends drew for me! You've seen his work on this site before (check the Artwork! tab).
Tis Matthew Tran, fellow storyteller and adventure-enthusiast, and author of The Obsidian Tale (LINK) and Fires of the Sky (LINK)! For my birthday, he's drawn me a beautiful tribute to the characters of JGT and the forever-wonderful idea of friendship. And I just really want to share it with you guys :)
So, here it is!
Thank you thank you thank you, Matt, for this pic! I will indeed cherish these characters, and I will cherish the friends that have inspired me to tell this story.

Butterfly creation
Allo!
So a tribute to my friend Genie who never stops creating.
Looks at that she's making butterflies out of thin air!
I drew this to celebrate Genie creating, i tried modeling the dress after a butterfly, I don't know how well it was represented but I really like how the drawing came out.
So happy birthday Genie. I hope you had a good one!

So its been 21 days since Jocey's birthday.
So that means its now Genie's birthday!
Genie is now 22, which is not 21, but still impressive.
Today we dedicate this day to you Genie!

Here's to Harrison and Ace Morrison!!!
Though they might not agree, I cannot wait to see them interact more. I have so much planned for these two...it's gonna be a very intense ride ;)
