Surprise! I am the Coauthor of a Children's Book!

Ello, everyone! Genie here with some awesome news! I coauthored a children's book! And it's about to get published!

This is the main reason why the comic pace has been a bit slow. But man, it's an exciting reason.

So, as you may know, I have been interning for this organization called The Guardian Princess Alliance (GPA) for well over a year now. This organization authors a children's book series that star strong, independent princess heroines who use their wit and their powers to protect the planet. The series provides children and their families stories that promote environmental awareness and cultural diversity. If you want to know more about GPA, you can visit guardianprincesses.com!

For most of my internship, I have been part of a collaborative team with other interns to help research and start new drafts for the fifth GPA book, Princess Leilani and the Lanu Tree. And now, I can proudly say that I am one of the two coauthors! This book, also coauthored by my friend, Juliann Anesi, illustrates a world inspired by Samoan/Pacific Islander culture. It's about Leilani, a beautiful, full-figured girl who aspires to become a healer. Leilani goes through a lot in this story, and I am very, very proud to have helped create her and witness what lessons she gets to learn and teach our readers.

GPA is currently running an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for the illustrating and printing of Princess Leilani and the Lanu Tree. If you would like to check out the Indiegogo, you can by clicking here:

If you would like to donate, there are many awesome prizes that come with certain donation amounts! And if you would like to help spread the word, thank you so much for doing so!

This is a dream come true for me, and I have this strange and wonderful feeling that this book is only the beginning. I'm telling you, if you have a passion, you may have it for a reason. That passion can lead you to something great. You just got to try your best, work hard, and of course, not give up.

JGT in OZ's next page will be posted very soon. In the meantime, here are some concept pieces I did for Princess Leilani and the Lanu Tree!

I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of Princess Leilani, and please check back soon for more JGT!

Until then,

Genie
