Two Years of Silliness

Ello, everyone! Genie here, and as Jocey has beautifully mentioned, it is the JGT website's 2-year-anniversary!!

HUZZAH!!!!

Two years ago, we shot out of our comfort zones and introduced JGT to the big and scary world. And after two years of being in it, they seem to like it just fine ^o^

And goodness knows that a lot has changed since we first said, "Hello."

The website layout changed.

The art style changed.

There may be a bit more color. Maybe.

But no matter how much has changed, JGT is still JGT, and will continue to be in the years to come. I'll make sure of it :D

And so, in celebration of this special day, here is a small tribute-pic I whipped up for our little comic.

Ta-da! Tis our heroines reaching out and joining the colorful world.

Because two years ago, that is exactly what they did.

And I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Happy Anniversary, JGT and company. May your silly adventure never end :)

Thank you, Jocey. Thank you, Taylor. Thank you, readers....Just, thank you so much,

Genie

OMIGOSH!

HEY MY SQUIRRELY PEOPLE!

Can you believe it:
HUZZAH TWO YEARS!! (that's a me btw)

It's been two years since you all met our squirrel-y heroes. Two years of an amazing journey through a forest! It's JGT's two year anniversary! And what a great journey it has been. I still remember when we launched the website, how nervous the two of us were...and then I can't forget the evolution of JGT. How it went from a colorless episode to a colorful page! It's truly truly amazing how much JGT has grown. How much Genie has grown. How much it will continue to grow...

JGT shall not end here, we continue to grow more! This only the beginning of the JGT era! Thank you all for continuing to read our story. It truly means the world to us. It's amazing how far we've gotten in two years, and it's amazing to think what will happen later on in the future. So look forward to it all! (Jus like I am)

So, thank you, and Genie! Two years! Can you believe it!

Page 27 is HERE!

Hey, guys!

I'm sorry for the rather long wait for this page. Just finished midterm season, but now that that ship has thankfully sailed, here is the next page of Big Magic (Part 3)!!!

Things are starting to get stressful for the boys...they only got one more day left!

Will they make it in time? Or will their risky move destroy them?

More pages are to come ;D

Also, tomorrow seems to be a special day for JGT...I'm gonna try to celebrate it through a surprise. So keep an eye out ;)

Thank you again for your patience, and I hope you enjoy the page!

Until then,

Genie

A Spell for Jocey...

Hey, guys!

Just so you know, Page 27 is still in the works, and because of approaching finals, it might be hard for me to get comic pages in at the moment. Page 27 may be up next week; I shall try my best to make it so. Thank you so much for your patience!!!

In the meantime, as stress relievers, I may post little on-the-side art pieces ^o^

Here is one of them... and it is for Jocey.

Tis her character, Jamie, and Rudy Jr. dressed up as Cardcaptor Sakura and Kero!

Recently, Jocey had to go under the operating light to deal with wisdom teeth drama, and situations like those can be scary and can freak someone out.

So, in an effort to root for her from school, I made this. Tis a tradition for us to say this to one another whenever times are hard or scary. It's the 'Sakura Spell', as quoted from the classic anime that we both adore.

Jamie is, as you can tell, not in JGT, but from The Great Beings, a story written by Jocey! So, she's kind of like a cousin of JGT...ish XD

And Rudy is Kero....yeah, I thought he'd fit, hehe.

If you would like to read about Jamie's own adventures, click here! <---Enter the World of The Great Beings!

Hope you enjoy! And hope you like it, Jocey!

Until then,

Genie

Throwback...Tuesday

Hey, guys!

So, remember when I said I found my Scribles and that I would show them to you?

Well, here you go!

These are the two Scribles. The word 'Scrible' is derived from various places, mainly Squirrel-Bible, or Scribble...either way, they are a couple of my most valued treasures.

And that's because the Scribles hold the original JGT comics! Who knew that a few stray comic strips would lead to two 3-inch binders full of comics? I didn't, and I love witnessing the reactions of people who actually see the Scribles in person.

They're all like, O______O.....what.

Hehehe, so yah, they are with me in college now, and are watching over me as I remaster the comics that they guard.

Hope you enjoy this lil blast from JGT's (and my) past!

I shall now get back to homework and page 27.

Until then,

Genie

Quick Check-In: Freak Out

Hey, guys! Genie here!

Page 27 is on the way, I promise! I'm still in the Drawing Phase, and at this time, school's giving me a lot of stuff on my plate.
I also just got a hold of the Scribles (aka the binders that hold the original JGT comics...maybe I'll show you guys how they look one day ;o), so you guys may see more old school JGT stuff in the future.

In other news that's not really JGT related...
As mentioned in my Bio, one of my college majors is Creative Writing, and with that comes the scary, scary challenge of submitting your work to the outside world...that's not your room and Microsoft Word, haha...in the hopes of getting published.
JGT is the first time I really ever put my creative work out there for eyes that weren't mine or Jocey's. And so far, it's been one sweet and totally awesome ride.

I can't say the same thing for my writing, though.
I've never really had the courage to bring out and submit my written stories outside of closed circles of friends and family. I was just afraid that...I don't know, that I would fail? That I wouldn't be good enough? That I'm wasting my time trying to learn this craft?

But this year, I said, "Ugh...fine!" and started submitting my stories to college journals. We all gotta start somewhere, right? I had nothing to lose. The worst thing that could happen is that they say, 'No.' And I have gotten a few of them. That feeling...could be nicer, hehe.

But last week, I received an email. Pomona Valley Review, a literary journal, officially offered acceptance for publication for one of my stories.

And I...FREAKED OUT.

After so many NO's and I-CAN'T-DO-THIS's and ALKJFJFSDLFS's, I finally got somewhere. I didn't stop writing even though I was afraid of the world judging every word, and I didn't stop writing even though after I shared it with the world, I got rejected.

So, please, I beg you, if you have a passion (and I know you do), and you wish to pursue it, keep going. Learn your passion, practice your passion, never let NO get in the way.

Now I can say that I am, in a small way, a published author. And the tears of joy are real.

.....Oh wow, I wrote a lot. My bad ^o^"""

At first, I just wanted to say Hi.

But now I also wanna say that YOU GOT THIS!

Never give up on your passions. They may team up with you and take you to your dreams. :)

Okay, Ate Genie's done now. I better get crackin' on the comic page and Creative Writing hw. Gotta love it.

Thank you for reading, and for being awesome!

Until then,

Genie

The Nerve...

Hey, guys!

With Page 27 still in the works, I thought it's time I'd share with you this little thing I whipped up for my JGT in OZ concept art...

Tis inspired by the lyrics to the "If I Only Had A..."songs from the 1939 movie :D

...with Lion being a total playboy X3

The colors are still changing a bit, but once I get them down, more chara sheets should be popping up!

I hope you enjoy this simple pic! More pages and extras are on the way!

Until then,

Genie
