"I Hope She Wins"

Hey, guys! Genie finally here with 2 degrees and a comic page!

Hehe, first off, thank you so much, Jocey, for that post... It really made me smile, and I am so grateful for all your support and for your friendship :)

So, to hopefully make you and all our readers smile as well, here is another silly mini adventure!

Tis called, "I Hope She Wins"!

Jag just can't handle the epic-Jocey-videogame-competitiveness...

And of course, the real Jocey isn't THAT violent XD Instead, she's epic in other ways, like getting an awesome grade on her first grad school test! HUZZAH FOR YOU, JOCEY!!! I knew you could do it :D I hope you win all the good grades, because you earned them :)

Now, we can continue with our comics, and our stories, together :)

Until then,

Genie

Congrats

Hey everybody,

As you may or may not know, Genie graduated from school! I couldn't make it, since I'm currently at school (if you remember those interviews I had to go to, I was accepted into the school of my choice and school started in June). Even though I couldn't be there I was able to see all the graduation photos that were posted and I could see the happiness and the proudness, and I'm incredibly proud. I knew Genie could do it, she worked really hard, and I wish I could have been there and cheered for my friend, but I still cheered, I cheered from here in Phoenix (which is where I'm now living, this heat here is atrocious).
I also have a few things to say to my friend:
To Genie:
I remember those nights when you were stressed or those messages where you incredibly worried and stressed. I remember telling you that you be fine, and that you could do it. Look now, you did it.
I remember the road where we separated, Class of 2011, and even though we were apart from one another, we still are Class of 2015 and we still cheered for each other and we were always there for each other. Even now, when I won't be there in San Diego, I'll still be there for you, no matter what you do or the choices you make.
I'll always be your fan and your friend.
We started this road together, and the thing tying us together, besides our friendship, are these three best friend squirrels, these two raccoon siblings, this fancy bunny, another weird squirrel and a little mouse with big dreams. They are our friendship immortalized. Jocey, Genie and Taylor, JGT.
I'm thankful our website is still around and I'm always thankful I have you as a friend.
Congrats Genie! Cheers! Until I see you again!

-Jocey

JGT as little stuffed animals, I may have not been there when you graduated, but all of us, JGT and JHR we were all there for you. Congratulations my friend.

Psst...a quick Ello

Ello, guys! Genie here.

Sorry for the delay in pages... I just finished my last week of undergrad O.o so these past two weeks have been very busy for me.

BUT! I do have the next mini adventure page planned out, and will try to finish it before I graduate on Sunday. (And HINT: the comic's stars are two characters that start with "J"!)

So be on the look out for that!

Thank you guys for being so patient!! After graduation, more pages will be on the way, as well as the new episode!!!

So, until then,

Genie

Three Years Ago, On May 27th....

.....the JGT website was born!!

Before this site, JGT existed only in our imaginations, and in piles and piles of printer paper and sheet protectors....and I am so glad that we decided to take this scary leap of faith and publish JGT on the web!

In honor of this anniversary, I wanted to share 2 things with you all!

First, I actually wrote a small JGT essay for one of my creative nonfiction classes. It's called "Confession of an Amateur Webcomic Artist." It delves into the journey of Jocey, Taylor, and I, and the eventual creation of JGT.

So, here is a small excerpt from the essay :) Hope you enjoy!

I drew alone in the comfort of my dorm desk, and I knew very well how bad the pictures looked. At one point, I wanted to stop the story. The comic wasn’t going to take me anywhere. I was wasting my time. But I got attached to the randomness that was JGT. As the serious one of the trio, I was having fun. And I just felt like I needed to draw the comic in order to feel that my two best friends were there with me.
Via many texts and Skype calls, Jocey suggested putting the comic on the web. And I told her that it was too terrible for the world. And she said no, they are not. They are funny, they mean a lot to us, and I should be proud of them.
     So we made a website.

Yeah, I was pretty terrified of making a website. But a certain squirrel girl told me not to be :) For visual effect (and by visual I mean squirrel visual because I just tend to draw us as squirrels now XD), this is how a lot of pre-website scenes went down between us...

So, in the end, JGT and the website are because of Jocey and her awesome words of wisdom :) Thank you, Jocey, for believing in JGT and for believing in me!

Aaaand for this wonderful doodle for the 3rd anniversary!

Isn't it lwajf;jfjsd cute?? Thank you so much, Jocey, for this picture to commemorate this website (look at our outfits omg I really do want mine and ahhhh this pic is so precious) and this journey! I can't wait to see where JGT takes us next, and I will believe in every step we take :)

JGT forever!

Genie and Jocey
