Extra Fun Fact: Dialogue Change Up!

Hey, guys! Genie here.

As I prepare Page 22 for you all, here is a little bit of trivia to feed the curious mind!

It regards the dialogue for the recently posted Page 21 of Eppie 9...

Remember the panel where Harry is talking about his relationship with Ace?

Well, that bit of dialogue was actually changed at the last minute.

Here, let me show you.

Here is the dialogue as typed in the script:

The red-underlined bit is what changed.

Here is the dialogue that ended up being in the finalized page:

...Kinda drastic change of emotions there, huh?

Well, as I was typing up the dialogue bubbles, I felt a little odd making Harry say, "I kind of dislike my brother"...Because, in all honesty, Harry does feel like he HATES him. No sugar-coating whatsoever.

I mean, knowing Ace, he would use the word 'Hate' without a second thought, but with Harry being the protagonist, it was hard for me to get him to say the word.

But then I realized...protagonist or not, Harry is still a 'human' character. And by human, I don't care about the fact that he is a raccoon. His character is still 'human', meaning that he will have touches of good, and touches of bad. No human is entirely good or entirely bad; it's always a mix.

And in this relationship, as you will later find out, both brothers embody this word, not just the 'evil' brother.

And I thought it wouldn't be fair if I sheltered Harry from his 'human' nature.

So, there you go!

Dialogue, as you guys know, is an essential part of story-telling, and it takes a good amount of effort to write in a way that best accommodates the story.

And I'm trying my best to do just that, as all story-tellers do.

Thank you for reading, and I shall see you with Page 22!

Until then,

Genie

Huzzah! Page 21!!

Hey, everyone!

I actually managed to get a page done earlier than expected! That's a first, haha.

This page is especially important to me because:

1. It's number 21. That is my lucky number (My life entails so many coincidences with that number. You can check the Fun Facts for some examples ^^")!

2. It's about brothers. And yes, in real life, I do have a younger brother with autism. And I love him very, very much.

When I wrote this scene out while drafting the script, I was already excited/anxious to draw it out. I knew it would all be emotional, because page 20 and 21 do share my true feelings for my best friends and for my bro. And being able to weave that into the eppie really meant a lot to me.

So, thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoy this page!

And be sure to look out for more posts regarding extras/pages/specials! ^o^

Until then,

JGT's 'OZ': Concept Art ~ "Unravel"

"I'd unravel every riddle..."

Hey, guys! So, Page 21 is now in progress, as well as more concept art for the JGT special, OZ!

This pic reveals another cast character for OZ...

Ta-da! It's the Scarecrow (played by a certain dude, hehe)!

This piece was drawn with the need to experiment with brushes, and with the Scarecrow's color scheme. He turned out...very colorful, no? XD

I really enjoyed experimenting on this piece. Huzzah for discovering different ways to paint clouds!

Anywho, I hope you guys enjoy it! Be sure to look out for more random concept art!

I shall now get back to working on Page 21 (eeeep!)

Until then,

And now you get to see what happens next...

I hope you enjoy! It's great to be back in my comic page-making schedule hehehe ^o^

Thank you again for being so patient, and I shall see you in the next post!

Sketch: The Cloaked

Hey, everyone! Hope you all are having an awesome day!

First of all, Page 20 of Eppie 9 is about half way done! It should be up by...Monday, I believe. So be on the look out for that!

So to pass the time, I thought I'd share with you a quick sketch I did a while ago of the two baddies of JGT: Lila and Ace!

From what I remember, this was drawn as a reference...for Jocey? Maybe? Well nonetheless, it was drawn with the love for these two in mind!

They've really been stirring up trouble, huh? Be sure to look out for them in the upcoming pages ;D

Hope you enjoy! I am now off to school, then to continue working on Page 20 (tis a cute one heehee)!

Until then,

JGT 'OZ' Concept Art: Tin Heart

Hey, everyone!
So, as I start drawing more comic pages, I also managed to whip up another concept artpiece for OZ!

And this one is about....the TIN MAN!

.....Kinda dark, huh?

Because this is concept art, I was originally just experimenting with the different brushes and colors and such. So, I apologize if it kind of looks....all over the place, hehe. I'm just experimenting ^o^""

Also, ooooh now you guys know who's playing 'Tin Man'! And you're probably thinking, "....Is the Tin Man wearing a tux and top hat?"
The reason for this shall be revealed later ;)

Until then, hope you enjoy!

~IN COLOR~

Yo-o everybody!

After some great difficulty where my trackpad lost its sensitivity and became kind of unusable, I got a mouse and woe and behold, coloring got super easy and finally the JGT holiday picture is now in color!!

Hopefully the skin color and hair color isn't too off from the way genie colors, but ta-da! Here is the pic, I felt like dressing Rudy in kind of non-christmas-y colors and blue became this thing haha...
I had lots of fun finishing this picture up and Tay's wavy hair gave me a run for my money...hopefully it looks a little wavy...so I hope you all enjoy the Holiday picture and I hope everyone is having a good new year!

JGT's "OZ" Character Sheet: GENIE

Hey, everyone!

So, just a heads up for comic pages...I shall start drawing again at the beginning of next week, for that is when I'll have my precious ruler back haha X3 So the next page should be up in one more week or so. Thank you!

But, to pass the time, I was able to finish a very basic character sheet for OZ!

Hehe I turned to the obvious and started with the Dorothy of the story...Genie!

You'll see why I chose her for Dorothy later on ;D

This is probably her final look for the special. As you can see, her little poncho-shawl thing changed colors. In the first concept art, it was red, and now it is purple! I changed it cuz I wanted the ruby necklace stand out (yes, tis a ruby necklace, not ruby slippers...have you seen shoes on these guys yet? Haha ^o^) Plus, I wanted to give the outfit a Genie-touch....so huzzah! Purple it is ^^

I will probably do these for the most of the main characters, so soon you will get to see who plays who! Excitement!

Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy!

Until then,

Genie

JGT Special: "Wizard of OZ" Concept Art

Hey, everyone! Genie here.

So, you know how I mentioned in the last post that I am planning a JGT special?

Well, here it is: JGT Wizard of OZ!

I've been a fan of OZ ever since I was tiny-tiny. And for a few years, I've been day-dreaming about the story with a JGT-styled twist. It involves casting who'll play who, the style I want to portray the world, and all that jazz...

I'm not sure if this is going to be a full on comic, cuz that will take a LOT of time (as you can imagine). If anything, it will be told in 'storybook' form and will be set in between two real episodes. But even though that is far away, I gotta get crackin with the pre-production already! Haha ^^

Anywho, here is the first colored concept art I did for the special.

Tis very simple, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? (Bet you can't tell who's playing Dorothy in this version, huh? XD)

When I get more concept art and sketches going, I'll be sure to share them with you!

And for those of you who aren't as interested in OZ as I am....don't worry, it's JGT XD there are a lot of twists and turns in this tale...

Thank you and hope you enjoy the first of many sneak peeks for this project!

Until then,

Genie

First Post of 2014: Something About Pendants

Hey, guys! Long time no post! I apologize for that; I've just settled back into the university student lifestyle and will continue drawing JGT pages...once I find my ruler....shoot.

Anyways! Guess who I got to see during Winter Break...Jocey!! Twas so cool that we got to see each other! And, to celebrate this reunion, we decided to draw our first collab picture, starring JGT and her series, The Great Beings!

And here it is!!

Tis called "Something About Pendants"! The picture basically illustrates Lila as some sort of pendant hunter, and now wants Jamie's...

I decided to use Lila as the ambassador of JGT for this collab cuz I thought she was a great character to contradict Jocey's soft-spoken character, Jamie!

And we added kind of a dark aura to the picture because of...reasons, hehehe.

If you wanna read The Great Beings, click here! Get engulfed in a world of darkness, light, mystery, and a tint of orange ;D

(Psst, I am also scheming up a JGT special at the moment...you will find out what it is soon...)

Hope you guys enjoy our collab pic! We really enjoyed working on it together! Huzzah for teamwork!!

Until then,

Genie
